Faculty of Computing

Established in December 2022 at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, the Faculty of Computing (FoC) stands as a pioneering institution. We are proud to offer Sri Lanka's very first Bachelor of Computing Honours degrees, fully aligned with ACM/IEEE international standards to deliver world-class curriculum structures.

Honours Degree Programs

Computing disciplines are key drivers of 21st-century innovation. To meet global demands, FoC offers Sri Lanka's very first Bachelor of Computing Honours Degree Programs—delivering hands-on expertise in cutting-edge technologies.

Bachelor of Computing Honours in Computer Science

Equips students with core computational theories, complex algorithm engineering, software structures, and AI logic to model next-generation systems.

Bachelor of Computing Honours in Software Engineering

Focuses on advanced software architectures, automated cloud deployments, DevOps systems, software QA frameworks, and agile workflows.

Bachelor of Computing Honours in Information Systems

Integrates enterprise business intelligence structures, database analytics, threat defenses, and network systems engineering into a single core.

Academic Divisions

Our Academic Departments

In these three-degree programs of FoC, relevant knowledge areas and competencies are to be inculcated among undergraduates mainly through three academic departments as below.

Department of Scientific Computing

Dedicated to computational calculations, numeric algorithms, mathematical modeling, compiler frameworks, and theoretical computer science.

Department of Information Systems Engineering and Informatics

Focuses on cloud ecosystems, database designs, enterprise network logistics, cyber security controls, and systems informatics.

Department of Knowledge Engineering and Communication

Concentrates on knowledge representations, semantic data links, machine translation, natural language interfaces, and human interactions.
